Alghero Airport Terminal

Alghero Airport was first opened in 1938 as a military aerodrome.

In the 60s, the passenger traffic was moved to an old hangar which was used as the passenger terminal. It wasn’t until 1971 that the first passenger terminal was built.

In the 00s there was a discussion regarding the airport name – If it was to be called whether Alghero – Riviera del Corallo, Alghero – Fertilia Airport or Sassari – Alghero. Finally, the name which is nowadays Alghero Airport known is Alghero – Fertilia Airport though Alghero – Riviera del Corallo is also a valid name.

The airport terminal was just renovated recently, expanding its facilities by constructing a new terminal.

Nowadays, Alghero Airport is formed by a single passenger terminal. Ryanair is the major airline serving the airport and has a hub.
